The plan involves having students read and analyze sentences using different verb forms to infer the meanings and uses of the tenses. The teacher then clarifies and explains the form, meaning, and use of simple present for habits and present continuous for ongoing actions. Students do controlled practice identifying the tenses in sentences on the board before writing their own examples of activities people are currently doing or usually do.
