Class Rules
1. Respect others, yourself, and the environment.
2. Listen to and follow all directions.
3. Keep your hands to yourself.
4. Raise your hand to talk.
5. Be prepared.
Rationale for Class Rules
1. It is important to treat each other with kindness and respect, so that
everyone in our class feels happy about learning together in school.
2. It is important to listen to and follow directions, so that everyone knows
what they should be doing in our class.
3. It is important to keep our hands and feet to ourselves, so that everyone
feels safe in our classroom.
4. It is important to raise your hand and wait to be called on to speak, so that
everyone has a fair chance to take turns talking.
5. It is very important to be prepared for the school day, so that every student
can learn how to work independently, work with a group, and turn work in
on time.
Rewards for Following Class Rules
1. Verbal Praise
2. Positive note sent to Parents
3. Pick and Lead afternoon activity
4. Get to be teacher's helper for the day
5. Private reading time in the Lounge Center for 15 minutes
Consequences for NOT Following Class Rules
1. Verbal Warning
2. Spend 5 minutes in Reflection Chair
3. Note or Phone Call home to Parents
4. Office Referral
5. Parent and Teacher Conference
List of Classroom Procedures and Rationales
1. Student(s) will be escorted by a buddy when going to the Nurse's
Clinic, in order to get there safely and quickly.
2. Student(s) entering the classroom in the morning are prepared and ready
to work, so that our learning time does not move into activity time or play
time.
3. Student(s) will treat others with kindness and respect when working in a
group, so that group members are productive and have their work finished
on time.
4. Student(s) will not use an outside voice in the classroom, so that we
know we are not distracting others sitting at their desks doing their work.
5. Student(s) will write down daily homework in their Journals every
afternoon when I am assigning homework, so that you know what work to
turn in the next day.
