Oxygen-Carbon Dioxide Cycle

Plants take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen during photosynthesis during the day, while animals breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. At night, plants take in oxygen and give off carbon dioxide, but animals continue to breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Together, plants and animals cycle carbon dioxide and oxygen in a balanced exchange through photosynthesis and respiration.
