NEBOSH IGC,UK
The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and
Safety is a globally recognized qualification.
Syllabus:
The course consists of two taught units IGC1 and GC2 and a practical unit
GC3:
Unit IGC1: Management of international health and safety;
comprising of:
Element 1 Foundations in health and safety.
Element 2 Health and safety management systems - Policy.
Element 3 Health and safety management systems - Organizing.
Element 4 Health and safety management systems - Planning.
Element 5 Health and safety management systems - Measuring, audit and
review.
GC2: Control of international workplace hazards; comprising of:
Element 1 Workplace hazards and risk control.
Element 2 Transport hazards and risk control.
Element 3 Musculoskeletal hazards and risk control.
Element 4 Work equipment hazards and risk control.
Element 5 Electrical safety.
Element 6 Fire safety.

Element 7 Chemical and biological health hazards and risk control.


Element 8 Physical and psychological health hazards and risk control.

GC3: International health and safety practical application


This part of the NEBOSH course has no syllabus content associated with it.
Although we provide you with a training session devoted to undertaking the
NEBOSH practical assessment.
The GC3 practical is completed in your own time after the course, and takes
roughly 2 hours.
The purpose of the NEBOSH practical assessment is to assess if you can
apply the knowledge gained during the IGC1 and GC2 units of study.

Examination
IGC 1 and GC 2 are taught units each assessed by one two-hour written
examination
GC 3 is assessed by one two-hour practical examination
Duration:
14 Days Class + 2 Days Exams
Certification:
Delegates who successfully complete IGC-1, GC-2 and practical assessment
will receive an NEBOSH International Certificate.
Membership and recognition:
The International General Certificate qualification meets the academic
requirement s for Technician Membership (Tech IOSH) of Institute of
Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and Associate membership (AIIRSM)
of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM).

Target Audience:
Managers, supervisors and employees based outside the U.K. Who require a
broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety principles
and practices. The NEBOSH International General Certificate is also suitable
for those embarking on a career in health and safety, providing a sound basis
for progression onto the NEBOSH International Diploma
