Future of Wind Energy
Summary of Proposal:
Wind Energy is an effective solution to the problem of pollution caused by the use of
fossil fuels. Wind energy has many Pros and very little cons whereas the use of fossil fuels is
environmentally outdated. The world is in need of an effective, clean, and dependable energy
source.
Background and analysis of the problem to be addressed:
This proposal has one main goal which is to promote the understanding that the
consumption of fossil fuels are affecting the world we live on. Fossil fuels have a huge impact on
the environment. Negatively affecting life on land and water everywhere. Due to the emissions
of greenhouse gases the effects on humans are resulting in cancer. These gases deplete the ozone
layer, which job is to weaken the ultra violet rays of the sun and these rays can cause skin cancer.
Oil spills have a huge effect on aquatic ecosystems, affecting the lives of millions of organisms.
Also people who depend on the oceans for food suffer. Forest and crops suffer from acid rain
which is cause by sulfur dioxide gases produced by fossil fuels. The pros are supposed to
outweigh the cons. The use of fossil fuels is not sustainable as they take millions of years to
develop. Eventually fossil fuels will not be an option, because there will not be any or that little
that the prices will be too high for common consumption. Fossil fuels are not the only way to
generate power.
Wind energy is just as effective as fossil fuels minus the pollution. The use of wind
energy will help slow and stop the damage being done by the use of fossil fuels. The cons of
wind energy are miniscule compared to the use of fossil fuels. The problems with wind energy is
that it is more expensive to produce and the turbines used to generate power take up a lot of
space. These costs will surely be worth the investment when private companies not have to
worry about oil spills or air pollution that cost billions of dollars to clean up. Wind turbines do
not need non- renewable oil to produce energy or create greenhouses gases. Turbines need wind
to generate power. This is a long term investment with an endless supply. Offshore, along the
coast is the perfect place to have the turbines that generate the power. There is thousands of
miles of coast where these turbines will not take up any space that us humans need. The effects
on the wildlife caused by these turbines will be a negligible percentage compared to fossil fuels
negative effects on wildlife. All these problems caused by pollution are non-existed in a world
that uses clean wind energy.
Wind energy should be the future main source of power. It is a growing industry that
should be supported more. Fossil fuels have one pro which is that it produces power. With this
power comes an unbelievable amount of pollution. This pollution is unnecessary and the problem
needs to be correct before were put in a deeper hole then we already in. With the use of wind
energy the world can recover from the effects caused by the consumption of fossil fuels.
Proposal Goal:
All in all, wind turbines are a far better option opposed to the common fossil fuels which
wreak havoc on our ecosystems. It is proven that pollution depletes the o zone and allows ultra
violet rays to penetrate our Earths atmosphere increasing the number of people who have to be
treated for skin cancer. Oil will eventually run out and we have an unlimited supply of wind. An
eco-friendly option that is just as affective should not be overlooked. We simply need to think
about the future when considering this dramatic change for the better. Wind energy is beneficial
to the environment, society, and to the world. Wind energy is the clean source of power that is
needed to solve the problems caused by fossil fuels. With this being the case the investment and
movement towards wind energy is option that everyone should be leaning towards and accepting.
