Riverside Police Notify Public of Suspicious Person near School
In an attempt to keep the public informed about a suspicious incident in the area of a school, Riverside Police
are releasing the following information. On April 23, 2015 at 10:42 a.m., a resident reported seeing a male
white subject standing near Blythe Park School urinating next to a home located on York Road. The caller
further reported that the subject left the area and headed through the south parking lot of the school. When
officers arrived to investigate, they searched the area extensively but were unable to locate the individual in
question. The subject in this case did not urinate on the school building itself but near a home adjacent to York
Road.
On April 24, 2015 at 8:30 a.m., the same resident reported seeing the same subject in the area of the school
acting suspiciously. Police immediately responded to the area and searched the area thoroughly both in patrol
units and on foot but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspicious subject was described as a male white, 30s, 5'10", 160 pounds, medium-to-thin build, brown
hair and brown facial hair. He was wearing a gray hoodie with the words "Chicago" across the front.
On Monday, April 27 Riverside Police sat in the area looking for the suspect matching the description and were
unable to locate him. Police have also conducted covert surveillance in the area of the school on the times
detailed by the caller but were unable to locate any suspect.
Riverside patrol units continue to check the area of the school daily but have not located anybody matching the
description.
Riverside Police Chief Thomas Weitzel stated, "I want to emphasize that at no time did this subject have a
conversation with, speak to, or have any physical contact with any student or staff member at Blythe Park
School. The subject is wanted for questioning for the public urination incident and acting suspiciously in the
area immediately adjacent to the school grounds."
Anyone who has any information on this case or sees this suspect in the future should contact Riverside Police
Department at 708-447-2127.
