Sump Design

1. The document describes the design of a sump for a 50 bed government hospital in Allur, Nellore. The sump is 6m long, 3.4m wide and 1m deep with a 0.3m freeboard. 2. It provides calculations for the design of the bottom slab and side walls of the sump. For the bottom slab, it calculates loads, bending moments, required reinforcement area and spacing. 3. For the side walls, it also calculates loads, bending moments in two directions, required reinforcement area, spacing and checks tension on the walls is below the permissible limit. Reinforcement of 10mm bars at 175mm centres is provided.
