Goalkeeping Drills for Ages 8-11

This drill focuses on organizing defenders to defend the goal in 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 scenarios. Five attackers and five defenders are arranged on opposite ends of the pitch, with two goalkeepers. The coach plays the ball to the red attackers, who try to score against the blue defenders one at a time. If the ball goes out or the goalkeeper saves it, play restarts. The coach varies the scenarios to work on defending skills like delaying attacks, denying space, effective decision making, intercepting, blocking, and tackling.
