Portable Flare Stack Procedures
With Outriggers
Purpose:
To stand flare stack after being spotted.

Information:
1. Begin by leveling flare trailer, first
front to back and then side to side.
1. Side to side is achieved by unpinning
fold away outriggers and swinging
them around to the operating position.
Do not forget to pin and install safety
pin once in the operating position.
2. Pull bottom pin out of crank adjust
jacks on the end of the outriggers and
extend to nearest hole to the ground
and reinstall pin.
2. You are now ready to crank the
jack(s) to achieve level of your flare
trailer.
3. Unwrap guy lines from stack and pull
them out ahead and away from flare
trailer.
3. Ensure clevises are tight at attachment
to stack and that there has been no
loosening during transport.
4. If stack is of two parts undo the two
fasteners that hold the stack to the
flare trailer.
4. Ensure you have ample room to
swing around top section of stack.
5. Take hinge gasket and install on bottom
section of stack.
5. Installing gasket can be done by
putting two bolts through the bottom
of the flange keeping it in place.
6. Swing top of stack to meet bottom of
stack and install remaining bolts.
6. Tighten bolts counter-clockwise,
beginning with the bolts at the pivot
of hinge. Be sure to go around twice
tightening.

7. To stand the stack into an operating
position, park vehicle perpendicular
to the right rear tire and attach
booster cables to the outlets of the
power pack of flare stack.
7. A 12 volt power supply is required.
Parking vehicle in this manner, if
stack were ever to fall over, it would
fall straight ahead onto trailer and
away from vehicle and operator.
8. Pull lever on hydraulic pump towards
stack to engage pump. Stack will rise
into upright position.
8. Needle valve on hydraulic line must
be open and speed can be controlled
by opening or closing needle valve.
9. Take off booster cables and remove
vehicle from area.
10. Take your 2 guy lines and attach to two
outriggers, take the remaining guy line
and attach to front of trailer.
10. Ensure there are 3 clamps on each
each end of guy lines.
