Dear Parent/Carers,
Health & Safety .
Attendance
On the reverse of this letter you will find a
list of forthcoming dates for your diary
which we hope you will find useful. This
list is not exhaustive and further dates will
be added throughout the term.
It has once again been brought to my
attention that some parents are parking
inappropriately when dropping off or
collecting their children from school.
The overall attendance for school was
94.13%. Our Year 5 children had the
highest attendance so have earned an
extra playtime.
Baby Gray
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs Gray who are
now the proud parents of baby Emily who
arrived on 27th December weighing
6lb.6oz
Some of the residents have children who
attend other schools, or when need to
leave for work are unable to do so due to
their driveways being blocked . Also could
we ask that you supervise your child
when opening car doors as a push chair
was accidently hit by a car door last week.
The local police have been informed and
will be monitoring the situation over the
next few weeks.
Goodbyes
At the end of term we will be saying goodbye to Mrs Thompson who has worked in
our school for 5 years. During her time
here at St. Marks she has made many
friends with children, parents and staff
alike. I am sure you will join me in wishing
her the very best of luck for the future.
Trip to Holy Island for Year 5 & 6 children
Each year the charity St Vincent De Paul
organize and run a weeks trip to Holy Island for Year 5 & 6 children. This trip will
give your child the opportunity to meet
other children and learn to live together in
a Christian atmosphere. Various dates are
available and the children who attend will
take part in range of fun activities. The cost
for the week is 85.00. If your child is interested in going along and you would like
further information, please call into the
school office and collect an application
form and further details. The deadline for
sending applications to school is Monday
2nd February. Please note that no staff
from St. Marks attend these camps.
Parent Evenings
Parents/Carers are invited to come along to
Parents evening on either Monday 9th
February, 3.30pm 5.30pm or Wednesday
11h 4.30pm 6.30pm. This will give you
the opportunity to have a chat with your
childs teacher and discuss their progress
and targets. Appointment sheets will be
placed outside your childs classroom later
this week.
Can I please ask you to park with consideration for other members of our community, your support in this matter would be
greatly appreciated.
Hawkhirst Residential Stay September
2015
Year 5 parents whose children are going
to Hawkhirst at Kielder in September can
begin paying for the trip from now. An
Initial first deposit of 35.00 should be
handed into the school office no later
then Friday 27th February. Thank you.
Y3 Class Liturgy
Our Y3 Parents are invited to come along
to a Class liturgy next Thursday morning
29th January at 9am. We look forward to
seeing you then.
Passports
As holiday time approaches, I am often
asked to sign passport application forms
and photographs for parents. I am happy
to do this. However, because I am away
from school a number of days each week,
I will need extra time to complete the
forms, so this will need to be taken into
account. I would also appreciate it if parents would make a small contribution to
our school fund.
PE kits.
PE kits must be brought into school each
Monday and taken home each Friday for
washing. A number of children regularly
forgot their kits last year. Please remember PE is part of our school curriculum all
children must take part. Parents will be
contacted and asked to bring in their
child's PE kits if it is not in school for lessons.
Homework
A number of our children are still not
handing in homework. Please ensure
that this is completed and returned by the
due date. Thank you.
Year 4& Year 5.
Look out for the Wednesday word coming home tomorrow & every Wednesday!
A free gift from St Marks to your family
This is a wonderful opportunity to spend
a quiet time with your child! Just follow
the 3 steps on the back and the children
will do the rest.
School Lunches.
If your child has a school dinner on a
Monday they have to stay on school
lunches all week .They can not change to
packed lunch mid week as Mrs Elliott has
ordered the food for your child for the
week.
