This week we are learning:


Circle Time Review
In circle the children will begin the
day with their usual daily routine
discussing the weather, days of the
week and singing number songs and
other favourites. We will focus on
sentence structure now that the
children are familiar with the
vocabulary.
The children will continue with the
land, sea and sky vocabulary to
compliment the transportation topic.
They will look at whats in the sky, on
the land and in the sea, the colours
and how we travel by different
methods.

Phonics

Activity Time
Vocabulary
Car, boat, train, truck, jeep, police car, fire truck, motorcycle, bicycle, bus,
helicopter, wheels, airplane.
Sentence structure:
What Is this? It is a train/car etc
Whats sound does a car make? Vroom
What colour is the car? It is blue
Games and Activities
The children have a worksheet to complete this week which will involve matching the
mode of transport to a road, the sea or the sky. The children have been learning this
vocabulary in circle time and should be able to draw a line to the correct answers.
The children have large pictures of helicopters to colour to add to the work display
outside.
A game involving the vocabulary Train, car, aeroplane and boat. Each will be called,
children will act out the modes of transport and watch for the stop and go signs.

We will continue as last week and review the letter sounds j, z, w, v, y, z, q and

blend these sounds into 2 letter sight words: wa, vi, va, zi, ja, qu and yo.

Writing Practice
The children will be writing in their
numbers book this week and
continuing to practice letter writing
during phonics.
