Circle Time Review


After going over the the seven days
of the week and the song we will talk
about the weather. We will sing the
How's the Weather? and It's
Rainy songs. I would still like to
review numbers 0-10 with the
students because it is important to
identify each number on its own as
well as in order. Most students still
need help with this aspect.

Phonics

Activity Time
Vocabulary:
We will be learning about family. The vocabulary for this week will be: mom, dad,
brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather and baby.
Activity:
We will first spend some time learning the vocabulary words. And talking about the
different members in a family. We will play the fly swat game to help with
memorization. We will also discuss our own families and see who has
brothers/sisters. Either this week or next week we will color the family worksheet.

Songs:
Video:
Finger family This song gets students activated and associating vocabulary with
an action. This will help the students not only memorize the vocabulary but
comprehend the words in a fun way.

New Letters and Sounds

Review
I want to continue recognition. I
feel most students need help with
this still. This week we will review
the songs, sounds and actions for
Jj, Zz, Ww, Vv, Yy, Xx and Qq.

Dates: January 12-15, 2015

There are no new letters or sounds. We have already learned all of the Jolly Phonics letters. Now
we are practising recognition.
