SAD Tutorial 4: Modeling

1. Instructions:
This tutorial builds on the two case studies that you were using in a previous tutorial to
practice requirement determination.
At this stage, the owners have been impressed with your initial interviews with them and
invite you to perform a thorough analysis of the business requirements.

2. Requirements
Form into pairs to complete the following requirements.
Important: time your activities in order to complete all the mandatory requirements.

1. [10mins] choose a case study to be your development case study.
Review the case study and update it with the findings of the interviews that you conducted in the
previous tutorial.
2. [30mins] Use a modeling technique discussed in the lecture to analyze the business
requirements.
(a) You will focus on the data modeling part in the tutorial and complete the process
modeling part as part of your home work.
3. [15mins] prepare a 10-minute presentation on your analysis.
After the presentation, update your findings based on the feedbacks (if any) that you receive.

3. Homeworks
Complete the following tasks and update your personal portfolio as appropriate:
1. Complete the process modeling part for the case study.
(a) Submit process modeling outputs on the portal
2. Write a project scope document explaining the owner's request and the objectives of
the project.
3. Write your analysis containing:
(a) The conceptual model that you and your partner produced
(b) Your own description of the model. State clearly all the constraints that are associated
to the model.
