MEADOW VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

DRESS CODE
Meadow View Elementary School expects students to wear clothing which is
appropriate to a learning institution and is neat, tidy, and worn properly. The
following guidelines are in place:
1. The school prohibits any clothing or grooming that, in the principal or designees !udgment,
may cause disruption or interference with the learning en"ironment.
#. $lothing which has printed messages of a profane nature, is gang related, or has messages
related to substance abuse including tobacco, alcohol, and%or of a sexual nature, is offensi"e and
not acceptable. &o gang affiliated clothing, !ewelry, bandanas, belts, etc.
'. (ats shall &)T be worn inside of the school buildings. They may be worn appropriately
outside and may not be worn bac*wards. +ang type caps are not acceptable.
,. -ppropriate footwear must be worn on .hysical Education /..E.0 days /tennis shoes or
snea*ers0. -ppropriate footwear must be worn daily that allows for safety on the playground.
&o heels higher than 1 inch are permitted. Sandals must ha"e a bac* strap and no open toes. &o
roller shoes are permitted.
1. 2ress or shorts length shall be &) shorter than the extended fingertips /including holes0.
3. 4are midriffs, low5cut or re"ealing tops, spaghetti straps, off the shoulder blouses, tan* tops,
halter tops, see5through tops, etc. are not permitted.
6. Ma*e5up, fa*e nails, perfume, and cologne are not appropriate at the elementary le"el and are
not to be worn at school. (air shall not be worn or colored in anyway that is distracting to the
instructional mission of the schools.
7. $ut5off, ragged or torn garments are not permitted.
8. Spi*ed clothing /li*e belts0 and spi*ed or gauge !ewelry /li*e earrings0 are not permitted.
IF A STUDENTS ATTIRE DOES NOT MEET THE SCHOOLS
GUIDELINES, HE/SHE WILL BE ASKED TO CALL HOME FOR A

.lease remember that if your child is sent to the office for wearing inappropriate clothing, he%she

en"ironment by pro"iding your child with appropriate clothing.
