Mark Twain- Bill Cosby said that Mark Twain is one of his inspirations for the comedy he writes. He also said that Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was one of his favorite books as a kid. Recently in 2009 he won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. This is only one of the fiftythree awards Bill Cosby has won. Temple University- This is the only college that Bill attended. He won a full ride scholarship for track and field. He dropped out of Temple to pursue a full time comedy club job. In 2013, he went to Temple to speak at the commencement. United States Navy- Before Bill Cosby went to college he had enlisted in the Navy. He had dropped out of High School just to join because money was tight. Cosby earned his high school diploma through a correspondence course. He said that the Navy was incredibly racist and he left after five years to go to college. Jell-O, Pudding Pops (Advertising) - Bill Cosby was the spokesperson for Jell-O for 25 years. His catch phrase was, You gotta have em! Cosby also did advertising for other companies. These included Del Monte, Ford, Crest, Coca-Cola, and Kodak. Fat Albert- Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids was a popular show in the 70s. It was on TV for twelve years. Bill Cosby played Fat Albert and most of the other characters. The show was based off of Bills childhood in North Philadelphia. Camille Cosby- Camille Hanks is married to Bill Cosby. They have been married for fifty years this year. She has appeared in many movies and shows with Bill including, I Spy. They have five kids together whos names all begin with E.
