Data Flow Diagram

Data Flow Diagrams (DFDs) specify the flow of data between external entities, data stores, and processes of a system. DFDs follow a top-down approach where an initial overview model is broken down into more detailed lower-level diagrams showing additional system features. Each process can then be broken down further to allow understanding of the specific portion under investigation. DFDs focus on data movement through the system rather than devices or equipment.
