Rosalind and Celia decide to flee the court of Duke Frederick after Orlando defeats Charles in a wrestling match. They plan to disguise themselves as men named Ganymede and Aliena to travel safely in the forest of Arden. Rosalind suggests they steal the court jester to accompany them on their journey. Celia agrees and they make plans to gather supplies and find a safe route to avoid pursuit before leaving for Arden.
