History and Purpose of Newspapers

Newspapers were first invented in 59 BC by Julius Caesar in Rome to inform citizens of current events. A newspaper is a scheduled publication containing news, articles, features, editorials and advertising, usually printed on inexpensive paper like newsprint. Newspapers function to inform people of important societal facts through professionally written news that can also serve as a reference source for research on past events covered in issues. Newspapers are a public resource used by all people in a society.

WHO INVENT THE NEWSPAPER? In 59 B.C. surfaced in Rome a publication known as 'daytime minutes' day-newsin order of Julius Caesar, with which he sought to make citizens aware of the events taking place in the city.

WHAT IT IS?
A newspaper is a scheduled publication containing news of current events, informative articles, diverse features, editorials, and advertising. It usually is printed on relatively inexpensive, low-grade paper such as newsprint.

What is his function? Used to know the most important facts of the society in which we live, professionally written and thus called news similarly a reference source, as many issues or events that were recovered in the newspaper can eventually become reference to any research topic.
