Needs Assessment
As educators we should view all students in the same light. Commonly teachers view students with disability labels as an excuse to perceive this particular population differently. At the end of this 10 question qualitative questionnaire study, it is my hopes that teachers recognize how they view and teach this special population of students and change their negative behaviors and/ or perceptions if needed. I presented both general education and special education teachers with a 10 question qualitative questionnaire to complete between a 2 week time length to measure teachers perception and level of understanding in educating the special education population.

Once all TEKS were analyzed, I created several model lessons to provide teachers throughout the 2013-2014 academic school year. Participating staff members were given brochures in which I created common school supplies and other additional information to shed light on updates to build relationships amongst the educators and parents.
