Met Carrefour, also known as Maitre Carrefour, Met Kalfu, and Kalfou, is a Lwa o f the crossroads and so all

things go through him, including all other Lwa. He i s often depicted as a young man and some view him as a devilish figure though th is is based off a misunderstanding of his nature, and he is considered to be a b it of a lone-wolf among the lwa. Within the African Traditional Religion of Voodoo, Vudu, Vodoun, or Vodun all ma gic passes through the crossroads and since Met Carrefour is the lwa of the cros sroads all magic passes through him. When he arrives, he may talk or occasionall y he rolls around on the floor in a ball. He has a feared and respected reputati on. Some people attempt to link him him with devils, an accusation which he deni es when he mounts devotees during services. Met Carrefour is a master of magic, sorcery, and charms. Met Carrefour can also open the crossroads leading a person to destruction and can cross a person's luc k. He is the director of magic both good and bad. He is a very fiery spirit who is deeply respected and whose powers over magic are renown. Met Carrefour's offe ring includes gunpowder, candles, the colour red, and rum mixed with gunpowder. In Catholic syncretic Voodoo practices, Met Carrefour is associated with the Dev il by some. An association that is based off a misunderstanding of his nature an d role in the religion.
