SECOND GRADE NEWS Dear Parents,

You will notice in the Upcoming Events section that we have a unit benchmark test next week in reading. This test will cover all the comprehension, phonics, and grammar skills we have worked on so hard for the past 5 weeks. There is not an official way to study for this test, and the vocabulary words will not be the same as those we have practiced. However, the strategies we have taught students, such as finding base words, looking at context clues, rereading, asking and answering questions, visualizing, etc. will be utilized. Please read aloud with your child, ask them questions as they are reading, and look over their homework with them.
