Chemical Reactions of Silver, Lead, and Mercury

The document describes various chemical reactions involving silver chloride, plumbous chloride, mercurous chloride, and other metal salts. When silver chloride is boiled with water or treated with excess ammonium hydroxide, it forms a gray precipitate that is insoluble. Plumbous chloride forms a white crystalline precipitate of plumbous hydroxide when reacted with aqueous sodium hydroxide. Mercurous chloride forms a white curdy precipitate in solution.
