Four major types of systems serve the various organizational levels: 1.executive support systems (ESS); 2.management information systems (MIS); 3.decision-support systems (DSS); and 4.transaction processing systems (TPS). However, each of the different kinds of systems may have components that are useful to individuals or groups at other levels of the organization.
