Teacher: Lala Class: EP1 Sunny Week: 9 Dates: 15/07-19/07

This week we are learning:


Circle Time Review
This week we only have two circle times due to the power cuts and school activities. This week we will continue to review family, Mum, dad, sister, brother, baby, Grandad, Grandmother. We will review family vocabulary using games and songs including the finger family song and the games Ive got it and the disappearing cards game. Also this week we will continue to review numbers in this session as this is the best time to review numbers and extend on their previous knowledge.

Phonics
Review
This week we will review all sounds from S B. We will mainly focus on reviewing the sounds ggg bbb as this is the most recent sounds taught. We will review these sounds using last weeks games and new games to ensure the students are learning these new sounds as well as previous sounds from previous weeks.

Vocabulary: Sunny, Rainy, cloudy, windy, snowy, hot, cold, snow, snowflake, rain, raindrop, sun cloud. Sentence structure(s): Question - What is the weather today? Response It is sunny/cloudy. Question Is it sunny/cloudy? Response No it is not/ Yes it is Sunny/cloudy Question - What is this? Response It is a sun/raindrop etc Song: Rain, rain go away Mr Sun If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops Activities: Make a weather board snowflake, cotton wool cloud. Sun, rain (There are only two activity lessons this week and this board will be done over the two lessons) Games: Disappearing card game - Put all cards out and students repeat all the cards as I take them away including the missing ones. Object toss - Select a soft object. "Is this sun?" Yes, It is." OR "No, It is a cloud". Toss the object to a student and have them use the appropriate phrase. Then they toss the objects to different students.

New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)
If students are confident with the sounds ggg-bbb we will move on to sounds jjj,zzz,vvv,www,xxx these the newest sounds the students learnt using the jolly phonics flash cards and least familiar with but the students were confident enough to move onto the non Jolly Phonics flashcards and continue to use the Jolly Phonics CD and use games we have played in previous weeks disappearing cards, the lake, fly swat and run and touch.

Writing Practice
This week we will continue to do writing practice in the alphabet book the letters we will focus on in the books will the letters c/k-d.

Sight Words
Students are currently not doing sight words.
