We are harming the earth through various forms of pollution and environmental destruction. Factories produce smoke and gases that pollute the air. Deforestation destroys animal habitats. Water is polluted by rubbish and chemicals from waste. Landfill sites contaminate soil and water sources with leachate. Illegal poaching threatens protected animal species and drives them closer to extinction. Collective human actions are damaging the natural world if changes are not made.
