Are work areas that are exposed to excessive noise marked with warning signage where appropriate. Are all workers performing activities that create excessive noise wearing hearing protection (rule - if you can't be heard talking from 1m, hearing protection reqd.) Is ear protection freely available for use in workshops or stores. If provided, is hearing protection being worn properly. Are all engine covers fitted when plant is operating. Are all items of plant fitted with suitable silencers in a good condition.
