SAPGUI 7.30 Install & Upgrade Guide

30 Installation and Upgrade


If the operating system is Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 you may have to disable the User Account Control (UAC). If your first install attempt exits within 30 seconds you must disable UAC and try again. To disable UAC in VISTA: 1. Launch MSCONFIG from the Run menu. 2. Click on the Tools tab. 3. Scroll down till you find "Disable UAC". 4. Click on that line. 5. Press the Launch button. 6. A CMD window will open. When the command is done, you can close the window. 7. Close MSCONFIG. 8. You need to reboot the computer for changes to apply. To disable UAC in WINDOWS 7/8: 1. Click on Start 2. Click on Control Panel 3. Click on System and Security 4. In the Action Center section, click on Change User Account Control Settings. 5. Drag the slider to Never Notify. 6. Click OK. 7. The system will prompt you to reboot. UPGRADE (uninstall previous SAP GUI) Log on to PC as user with local admin rights Ensure all applications are closed. A/V software should be OK to leave running. In Control Panel, go to the Add/Remove software or Programs & Features, uninstall both: o o SAPGUI for Windows (whatever version is present) SAP Business Explorer

Reboot machine and perform Installation (below) INSTALLATION In the downloaded install package, double-click the file SAPGUI730Installer.cmd Wait for install to complete You may be asked to Press any key to continue Install the required saplogon.ini file according to this instruction document Enable UAC if previously disabled and desired To run SAP GUI, click on Start >> All Programs >> SAP Frontend >> SAP Logon Pad
