Windows 8: Future of Computing

Windows 8 will be Microsoft's last 32-bit operating system and will include support for ARM processors and USB 3.0. It requires at least a 1GHz 32-bit processor, 1GB RAM, and 16GB of free storage. Windows 8 features a new Metro UI designed for touchscreens, improved boot times, and a new file system. It also offers cloud services, a new app store, and the ability to run a portable workspace on any PC. While promising improvements for mobile and desktop use, some drawbacks include difficulty switching between screens in the Metro interface and limited multitasking. Overall, Windows 8 poses strong competition for iOS and Android in mobile computing.
