Macrame book mark
By Stefan Hedman, [Link]/makrame
You'll need yarn in three colours; here I've used black, yellow and red. You'll need 3 yellow, 6 red and 1 [Link] should be at least 120cm of length and folded on the middle so they are 60 cm when you start tying. Start to put up some threads using the black thread, reversed half-hitches, as the picture below show. Observe that you need to do this on the middle of every thread. Also observe the order of colours.
2
Make two macrame knots in the middle of the red thread groups.
Make double half-hitches of the yellow pairs of threads. No difference in witch direction.
Keep on making double halfhitches until the yellow threads meet again (the outer yellow threads will come to the black ones.
Make macrame knots of the red groups again.
7
Make some reversed halfhitches with the outer black threads on both sides.
Continue with the yellow ones until they meet again. Make macrame knots of the red thread groups as before. Then make reversed half-hitches with the black threads again.
9 Tie two double half-hitches of the outer red thread pairs.
Then tie reversed half-hitched of the black threads. As you'll see, this should be made every second knot. Now you should be able to continue by yourself. Tie red macrame knots, double half-hitches of the yellow and reversed of the black. Good luck!
10
Finish the book mark by making a row of black half-hitches, moving towars the middle with the outer black threads. Stop when they meet.
