What makes SANU 2nd Home different from other vacation rental services?

SANU 2nd Home is a second home service built on the concept of “Live with nature.” With over 30 locations across Japan in beautiful natural settings, it’s not a hotel or a typical rental. You can stay for a night or own a cabin as a real estate asset. Check-in is self-service, and guests are expected to treat the space with care—just like a shared home in nature.

What amenities and equipment are provided?

Basic amenities such as towels, shampoo, kitchen appliances, and cooking utensils are provided. However, toothbrushes and pajamas are not included. Please check the Stay Guide before your trip.

Is foreign language support avialable?

Yes, our customer support team is available in English.

Is there a barbecue I can use? Do you offer BBQ equipment rentals?

Cabins with fire pits can be used for barbecuing. BBQ tools are not available for rent. Please bring your own grill net, charcoal, and food. Some properties (e.g., Tateyama 1st, Nasu 3rd) offer paid BBQ setups—advance reservation required.

Note: For safety reasons, personal BBQ grills are not allowed.

Can I drive to the cabin? Is there parking?

Yes, one parking spot is available per cabin. Some properties allow two cars. See the Stay Guide for details.

Can you help arrange local activities or sightseeing tours (hiking, skiing, etc.)?

Yes, we can help coordinate activities and tours upon request. Please contact [email protected].

How many people can stay in one accomodation? Is it suitable for families with children?

Capacity depends on the cabin type. For large groups, we recommend booking multiple cabins.

- SANU CABIN MOSS: 4 guests (2 semi-double beds + 1 extra futon)

- SANU CABIN BEE: 4 guests (2 semi-double beds, ideal for 2 adults)

- STUDIO RAY Medium: 4 guests (2 double beds)

- STUDIO RAY Large: 6 guests (1 queen bed + 4 extra futons)

- LOFT SKY: 4 guests (1 double + 2 single beds)

- Selection Series: 5–8 guests (varies by property)

Children under school age are not counted toward the guest limit. Baby beds are not available.

How can I check-in? Is early check-in or luggage delivery available?

Check-in is self-service. No matter how you book, you must create a free SANU account and register guest and payment details in advance. Once completed, you’ll receive a stay info email.

Do the cabins have saunas?

Some cabins have private saunas. Please check when booking. Bring your own swimsuit. Sauna hats and ponchos are recommended, but not provided. No rentals are available.

Do I need to clean the cabin before checking out?

Yes. Please Wash and dry the utensils, dishes, and cookware you used during your stay and return them to their original places. Also, please sort your trash and dispose of it at the garbage station on the grounds.

At SANU 2nd Home, we treat the cleaning staff as part of our extended family. We appreciate your care in maintaining this shared “2nd Home” for everyone.
