Judith B I love puzzles - not as much as Ludwig though. My favorite part: watching how the mind of a “puzzle solver” works is amazing. And, there is a perfect cast. Unique circumstances of John fits surprisingly well to this heartwarming drama about family and relationships. A decent dose of witty exchanges and a unique group of supporting characters to pick-up leftovers did help the cause of this series. Impressive performances by the cast. Great vibrant visuals, strong special effects and perfect cinematography. Beautiful scenic locations. Great usage of sound effets. For the viewers who look for a drama that's both decently thrilling and funny Ludwig is the perfect series to watch. W I'm really pleasantly surprised at how much I am enjoying this! I did go into it wanting to enjoy it, as it sounds like a fun premise and I really love everything David Mitchell has done... but I was a bit cautious during the initial the buy in, as detective mysteries often veer mediocre and overplayed. This series, I'm happy to report, defies all expectations. Mitchell's character is intriguing from the start, and the overall premise is fresh. We get not only a case-of-the-week murder mystery with a fun new take on Sherlock Holmes style deductive crime solving, but also a full series arc that hooks you from the beginning... it's very cleverly constructed. The show also avoids recycling stock character tropes: the cast is lively and the roles they play are new and exciting. I especially love Lucy Betts-Taylor as Anna. Her chemistry with Mitchell is fantastic, and again, there's a newness to her role that is really refreshing.
