Castlevania: Nocturne, season 1, is a disappointing follow-up to the original Castlevania series, it fails to capture the same depth, storytelling, or character development that made its predecessor so engaging. The pacing is uneven, with long stretches of exposition that fail to build real tension, and the dialogue often feels forced rather than natural. The new cast of characters is largely forgettable, with little emotional weight to their struggles, and Richter—supposedly the protagonist—lacks the charm or complexity to carry the show. Literally, no development for Richter.
The animation, while competent, lacks the same fluidity and artistry seen in the original series, with fight sequences that feel forced and lack appeal. The show also leans too heavily on modern political themes in a way that feels more like a checklist than meaningful storytelling, detracting from what should be an intense and immersive vampire-hunting adventure.
The only real reason to sit through Castlevania: Nocturne is the hope that season 2 might be an improvement. If you’re a die-hard fan of the franchise, you might find some scraps of entertainment here, but for most viewers, it’s a lackluster experience that pales in comparison to what came before.

I didn't have much hope after the last adaptation, but this one, my friend... is nothing.
It's an "adaptation" that only has the names of the characters from the original material, a series full of nothing, it's not convincing and it keeps going around in circles to deceive the public, pretending that it's getting somewhere.
I was honestly thinking about writing a text pointing out the various problems, but I don't think it's worth wasting any more time.

This is not an adaptation; it is a hijacking of a franchise. There is nothing of Castlevania here beyond the name. No respect for the original content, no foundation in the source material. Character appearances, personalities, and objectives have been completely altered—rendering them utterly unrecognizable.
On top of that, the direction is awful. I have never seen so many plot holes in one place. Vampires walking in broad daylight? Seriously? The characters are hollow, lifeless, and lack any charisma. There is no depth, no substance, nothing to connect with.
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this. If you are a casual viewer with no knowledge of the original series and can accept whatever is thrown at you without question, you might find some enjoyment here. But if you are a fan hoping to relive the unique and captivating world of Castlevania, I regret to inform you that you will not find what you are looking for.

This show is so shallow and empty, no depth or sophistication in the plot, no character development, nothing new or original.
