Besides a regular expression, the <code>pattern<\/code><span> can be <code>Pattern<\/code> object.<\/li><li><code>string<\/code> is the input string<\/li><li><code>flags<\/code> is one or more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pythontutorial.net\/python-regex\/python-regex-flags\/\">regex flags<\/a> that modify the standard behavior of the pattern.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If the search is successful, the <code>match()<\/code> function returns the corresponding <code>Match<\/code> object.
