Note: The vendor no longer produces this program, but they still support it. Visit to read PC World‘s review of USB Lock Standard, this file’s Vista-capable successor. Isn’t it great that rewritable CDs, removable USB drives, and floppies let you take your data with you? And isn’t it creepy that these same things let other people take your data with them? USB Lock AP lets you lock down or lock out the drives that could compromise your data’s security. With this program, you can stop a floppy drive and a CD-ROM or combo drive and/or removable USB drives.
Since USB Lock AP is password-protected, you can change the settings whenever you need to use those drives for your own purposes. Even when USB Lock AP blocks removable USB drives, your other USB devices–cameras, printers, and so forth–keep working the same as ever.
