Set up an email address with an MX plan
First, check that you are subscribed to MX. You can use it to link email addresses to your domain name. Also, you can get it through a web hosting plan, the 100M free web hosting that comes activated with a domain name, or by subscribing to the MX plan separately. Log in to the OVHcloud Control Panel , and go to the ‘Web Cloud’ section.
Special cases
If you’re using the free 100M web hosting plan, activate it in advance via the OVHcloud Control Panel under the specific domain name. If you have a hosting solution, activate the included MX subscription before you continue.
Find the version of your MX Plan
Log in to the OVHcloud Control Panel. Then go to the ‘Web Cloud’ section. Click ‘Emails’, then select the MX Plan you have. Do this depending on whether you have the old version or latest version of the MX Plan.
Create an email account
For the latest version, go to the ‘Email accounts’ tab, and click ‘Add an account’. Enter the necessary information — email account name, first name, surname, display name, and password. Double-check the information, then click ‘Next and Confirm’. Once your new account is ready, it will be displayed in the list.
Access emails
Go to the ‘Log in to webmail’ page. Enter your email address and password, then click ‘Log in’. When you first log in, set your language and time zone. Your inbox will then appear.
Delete an email account
Resetting your account is now possible with the latest version of the MX plan. Before you reset it, make sure nobody is using it. In the ‘Email accounts’ tab, click “...” next to the account, then ‘Reset this account’.
For the older version of the MX plan
Follow the same steps, but under the ‘Emails’ tab. Fill in the account information, including name, description, size, and password. Click ‘Next’, then ‘Confirm’ to create the email.
