WHO WE ARE
Ohneganos Ohnegahdę:gyo is an Indigenous water research program led by McMaster University Professor Emeritus, Dr. Dawn Martin Hill.
All photography is owned and provided by the Project Team.
About Ohneganos
Our program is made up of two main projects: Co-Creation of Indigenous Water Quality Tools and Ohneganos - Indigenous Ecological Knowledge, Training, and Co-Creation of Mixed-Method Tools.
Project Team
Water is connected to everything! This is reflected in our interdisciplinary team of academics, local experts, and project partners. A holistic approach to water helps us harmonize Indigenous Knowledge and Western Science.
Learning Materials
Part of our work involves producing a number of ‘tools’ and educational resources for Indigenous communities to build resilience and empower youth.
Investing in Indigenous youth and developing grassroots solutions are needed to ensure a water secure future!
United Nations SDGs
This project supports many of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
We’re also featured as an ongoing ‘success story’ for the 2018-2028 Decade for Action on Water.
Global Water Futures
We have been funded by the largest university-led water research program in the world:
