About NCIMB<\/span><\/h1>

NCIMB Ltd is an innovation-driven microbiology products and services company that houses the largest bacterial culture collection in the UK Biological Resource Network. This culture collection is an invaluable genetic resource for industry and the research community. We supply strains from our culture collection for research and commercial use, and offer a trusted range of microbial identification, next generation sequencing, chemical analysis, ecotoxicity, and biological material storage services from our purpose-built, Aberdeen-based laboratories.<\/p>\n

Our customers include some of the world's biggest pharmaceutical manufacturers as well as household names in food, drink and energy production. We also work with universities, research institutes, small companies and start-ups.<\/p>\n

OUR FACILITIES<\/span><\/h2>

Our new, purpose-built, laboratories and storage facilities are located in Aberdeen, in the North-East of Scotland.<\/p>\n

Our molecular suite is equipped with automated extraction capabilities including Qiagen QIA cubes to produce high quality DNA and RNA for downstream PCR, qPCR and sequencing. Our laboratories are equipped with the latest technology for sequencing and identification of microorganisms, including Sanger and next generation sequencing platforms.<\/p>\n

NCIMB houses the UK's National Collection of Industrial, Food and Marine Bacteria on-site, and has the facilities to offer biological material storage customers a flexible service ranging from storage of a few cryogenic vials in a shared freezer, to customised high security, dedicated storage areas.<\/ps<\/p>\n<\/div>

We operate a well-established quality management system certified to ISO 9001:2015, and undertake microbial identification to Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards.<\/p>\n<\/div>
