However, MySQL does not support indexing JSON data directly. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, you can use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysqltutorial.org\/mysql-index\/mysql-functional-index\/\">functional indexes<\/a>, which have been available since MySQL 8.0.13, to index JSON data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Indexing JSON data using functional indexes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A functional index is an index based on an expression rather than a column.
