1. Install Ditty
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin.
- Type Ditty into the search field.
- Click the Install Now button and wait for WordPress to install the plugin.
- Click the Activate button to activate Ditty.


2. Creating a new Ditty
- Once Ditty is installed, refresh your dashboard and you’ll see a new menu item name Ditty.
- Hover hover the Ditty menu and select Add New.

3. Add items
- Every new Ditty will load with the item type selection panel open. This panel displays all the possible item types you can add to your Ditty.
- Select the item type you want to use. For this article, we will use the Default item type.
- Select the Add [item type] button at the bottom of the panel.
- You will now be shown the item edit screen. Every item type will have a Settings tab and Customize tab. Some item types will have additional tabs for additional settings.
- To add more items, select the Add Item button on the Items panel.

4. Adjust your item layouts
All items use a layout to render the html and css that displays the content for the item type. Every item type loads using either a default layout or a template that has been saved as the default layout. Using the layout editor, you can customize these layouts to be whatever you want.
- On your items list panel, select the layout edit icon for your item.
- Select the Customize button on the next panel.
- You will see two tabs for customizing your layout. Select the HTML tab to modify the HTML structure of your item, and select the CSS tab to modify the CSS of your item.
- You can also select the Reset to Default Layout link near the top of the panel to reset your layout to the default layout of the item type.

5. Configuring the display
Ditty provides multiple display options to render your items. When creating a new Ditty, you’ll be asked to select a display type when you first click the main Display tab. You can also switch display types at any time by selecting the Change Type link next to the current display type title. You can use a saved template as your display or completely customize the settings to fit your needs.

6. Add the Ditty to your site
There are multiple ways to display a Ditty on your site, depending on your needs.
