About
OCBE addresses all aspects of biostatistics, from methodological research to advanced supervision and research-based statistical advising towards all areas of medicine and health related research, from clinical and epidemiological research, to molecular biology and other basic medical sciences.
OCBE’s research covers a broad spectrum of modern biostatistics, data science and epidemiology. Main research activities are in statistical machine learning and high-dimensional statistics, longitudinal and time to event data, measurement uncertainty, evidence synthesis, causal inference, clinical trials, observational studies, statistical genomics and big data. OCBE researchers develop statistical and research methodology for modern biomedical research and its application to the design, analysis and interpretation of clinical, epidemiological and other biomedical studies and data.
OCBE provides research-based statistical advising and training for researchers and students of the Medical Faculty of the University of Oslo, of the Oslo University Hospital and of South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (HSØ).
