Spreadsheet Tools
These tools are designed to port data between Google My Maps and Google Spreadsheets. There are two tools, one to convert KML files (My Maps) to tab-delimited files and another to convert in the opposite direction.
Note that both tools only generate a data file, it is up to you to upload the data to either Google Spreadsheets or Google My Maps.
Because the KML format is fairly general a spreadsheet offers more flexibility for defining additional data fields such as addresses, web urls and images within your data.
You can use the data in other applications besides Google applications, e.g.
(1) Microsoft Excel can be used for editing tab-delimited files.
(2) You can upload the KML to your own website, and then include a reference to the KML file within
your site map and help boost your site's web presence.
This section contains links to our map data tools. These tools are in development, please use the contact form to report any problems you encounter using the tools.
The tools are used to convert KML files to tab-delimited files and vice versa.
You must be logged in to use the map tools.
