Psychologist Gets Bluesy on the Brain

Matt Crump is an experimental psychologist who studies cognitive control. He is in his fourth year as a postdoctoral fellow at Vanderbilt University, and has recently accepted an assistant professor position at Brooklyn College. His research looks at how learning, memory and attention processes work together in everyday skills like typing, as well as other tasks like playing musical instruments, such as piano and guitar. In a recently published study, Crump, along with Gordon D. Logan of Vanderbilt University, explored conscious control in various tasks.
