25. Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch)

3 years, 4 months ago at Oct 1 21:51
Sokovian war orphan Wanda Maximoff eagerly signed up, along with her brother Pietro, for Wolfgang von Strucker's Mind Stone experiments, which unleashed her unequaled psionic powers. As arguably the most powerful hero in all of the MCU, Wanda's full wrath of abilities began to reveal themselves while battling Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, during the Battle of Earth, and then in the reality-altering... read more

Wanda Maximoff and her twin brother Pietro were orphaned at the age of 10 in a missile attack on their apartment in Novi Grad, Sokovia. While their parents were immediately killed in the bombings, Wanda and Pietro were trapped for two days in the rubble of their home next to an undetonated Stark Industries missile.

After their eventual rescue, Wanda and Pietro were admitted into a Sokovian orphanage. Their horrifically traumatic experience caused them great resentment toward Tony Stark. The twins spent much of their lives protesting against Stark Industries, whom they blamed for their parents' deaths.

Unknown to any of them, Wanda was born with latent magical abilities. Growing up, their family would watch American sitcoms to practice their English. Wanda became incredibly fond of the sitcoms, particularly The Dick Van Dyke Show, comforted by and longing for the idyllic lives they depicted.

25. Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch)

“Sokovian war orphan Wanda Maximoff eagerly signed up, along with her brother Pietro, for Wolfgang von Strucker's Mind Stone experiments, which unleashed her unequaled psionic powers. As arguably the most powerful hero in all of the MCU, Wanda's full wrath of abilities began to reveal themselves while battling Thanos in Avengers: Endgame, during the Battle of Earth, and then in the reality-altering series WandaVision. (As for Vision, he just missed making our list.)

Let's face it. Wanda would be way higher on this list after the events of WandaVision... if it weren't for the events of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which put her status as a hero in serious question.” read more
