Run a speed test - for a video interview, you want at least 10 Mbps up & down and ping <50 ms. 2. Do a test call on the same platform (Zoom, Teams, Meet). 3. If it’s shaky, move closer to your router, restart it, plug in to ethernet, or tether your phone as a backup connection. Anyone else learn this the hard way? I was paying for high speed internet, but my video calls kept freezing. I thought it was my ISP. Turns out, the problem was my router placement. Routers don’t like being tucked away in closets or pushed into corners. They perform best when they’re central, elevated, and clear of walls and furniture, especially concrete or metal. Concrete will absorb the #WiFi signal, making it weaker, and metal will deflect it. The moment I moved mine closer to my workspace, the lag, dropouts, and call issues disappeared.
