Things are getting cloudy in the
Public Sector
Whether Germany, the UK or Singapore – the transformation to digitalization
is in full swing. Some countries are already further along, while others are still
in the early stages of their efforts, but they are all united by the same idea: to
digitize all services and offer them online to citizens in a simple and
straightforward manner. With the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, the
benefits of contactless and direct access to public services also quickly
became clear. But with the onset of the pandemic, many public entities felt
the full force of concentrated cybercrime for the first time, and protection
solutions were often not at the level they perhaps should have been.
And once the Covid-19 phase ends, it will be equally important to keep
security as tight as possible. Securing infrastructure or web applications
should always be a top priority, so that even small attacks won’t lead to
major negative consequences.
