João Sacramento
I am a research scientist at Google. I am a member of the Paradigms of Intelligence team led by Blaise Agüera y Arcas and Yul Kwon.
My long-term goal is to develop better neuroscience-inspired machine learning algorithms, and in turn use insights gained from designing these to understand learning in the brain.
Before joining Google, I was a principal investigator at ETH Zurich hosted at Angelika Steger's group. Prior to that, I was a postdoc with Walter Senn at the University of Bern. I received a PhD degree in computer science from the Instituto Superior Técnico, where I studied neural associative memory with Andreas Wichert.
In the past, my research was generously supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, ETH Zurich, and the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
