Visual Identity
1. Intro
FORTH’s logo constitutes the primary element of the organization’s visual identity, symbolizing innovation, research excellence and technological progress. The instructions found herewith aim to ensure the consistent and proper use of the logo, sustaining the integrity of FORTH’s visual identity.
2. Logo Structure
The logo entails two main elements:
- The emblem: The Phaistos Disk
- The verbal part: The acronym ‘’FORTH’’ or ‘’ITE’’ (Greek), accompanied by the organization’s full title in English or in Greek.
Both elements should always be incorporated in the approved versions of the logo.
3. File format and Versions of the logo

The approved logo files should be in the designated formats below:
- .PNG: For digital use (with transparent background)
- .JPG: For monitor use and prints
- .EPS: For high resolution prints and extendable graphics

*the colored version should be preferably used when possible.
4. Margins and Minimum dimensions
To ensure clarity and readability of the logo:

- Maintain a margin around the logo equal to the 25% of the circular emblem area.
- Minimum width for printing: 30 mm
- Minimum width for digital use: 120 px
No text, image or graphic element should be placed in the logo margin area.
5. Color palette
Main colors:

The consistent use of the indicated color palette enhances the recognizability of FORTH.
6. Improper use
To ensure the consistent and professional visual identity of FORTH, it is not allowed to:
- alter the dimension proportion or color palette of the logo.
- add visual effects, e.g. shadows, degradation to the logo.
- rotate, distort or stretch the logo.
- integrate the logo in colorful backgrounds with motifs.
- remove or modify any element of the emblem or the verbal part without prior approval.
- combine the logo with other symbols or texts without prior approval.

7. Background check
- The colorful version is used on a white or light background.
- The inverted (white) version is used in dark background.
- The appropriate contrast is used to ensure clarity.
8. Logo placement
- The logo is placed preferably on the top left/center of files and top left or bottom right corner of presentations.
- Consistent alignment and spacing should be maintained across all applications.
- Placing the logo too close to margins or other graphic elements should be avoided.
9. Co-branding and collaborations
When FORTH’s logo is used along with other logos:
- Equal visual weight and space should be maintained.
- The logos should be aligned horizontally or vertically with fixed margins.
- FORTH’s logo should not be modified in order to comply with the aesthetic of the other organization logo.
