Saberic is a refugee musician who traveled to Jerigor to avoid conscription in his home kingdom of Khaburan. Despite his tall, athletic appearance, he avoids conflict whenever possible and strives to stay as far away from any potential danger as he can.

He typically plays music on street corners for coin, at least until someone threatens him into moving along. As a native of Khaburan, he possesses the kingdom’s signature ability to hover above the ground without having to engage his wings.

Eira is a student at the Mirror Academy in Jerigor, training to be one of the city-state’s famed oracles. While her magic does work, it has never seemed to be fully under her control, and most of her teachers have all but given up on Eira making it to graduation, despite her best efforts.

Though lacking support for her unique talents, Eira remains cheerfully (and arguably naively) determined to persevere. She hasn’t given up on finding the answers to her magic’s odd properties and if she has to break a few rules to fully understand how to properly decipher her own prophecies, Eira is willing to embrace a little risk.

Khari is a Shield of Khaburan, traveling under orders outside the kingdom to intercept communication and intelligence from the outskirts of the conflict. As he is barely old enough for conscription, his missions aren’t particularly dangerous or important, despite his frequent requests to be deployed closer to the front.

Often found running headlong into danger without stopping to look for traps, Khari is headstrong and eager to prove himself. As a Shield, though his magical talents ought to focus on defense, he instead employs his force fields as translucent battering rams with devastating results.

Jett is an ambassador for the Ravari people displaced by the Ruby plague. He believes wholeheartedly in the inherent goodness of others and can sometimes be led astray by this misplaced trust that people will always choose to be kind and do the right thing.

When the Ruby’s originally attacked the Acorith Empire, Jett was serving in the Junior Diplomatic Assembly. After the city fell, he found himself one of the few remaining voices able to advocate for the people of the Empire, and he takes this duty very seriously.

Pensry is an Akshan advisor and occasional bodyguard to her adopted brother, Jett. Some might overlook her due to her reserved nature and short stature, but Pensry is as stubborn as they come, willing to do whatever it takes to keep Jett safe.

Though originally from Lusola, Pensry’s family was caught in the initial Ruby attack in the Acorith Empire and were separated. Jett found her shortly afterward and they have been traveling together searching for a cure for the Ruby Plague ever since.
