Adding AI Chat to your website allows your users and customers to receive detailed and accurate answers to their queries with minimal cost and effort on your part. This solution provides an efficient way to improve customer experience, reduce support workload, and ensure 24/7 assistance.
The AI Chat Solution
AI Chat consists of four main components:
- Frontend Chat Window
- This is the visible chat interface that appears at the bottom of your webpage.
- You can customize its look and functionality to match your website’s design and user needs
- Administration
- This involves configuring the A, training it with relevant data, and setting up the necessary infrastructure to support AI-powered interactions.
- You will be able to set limits, access analytics, get notifications and more.
- AI Knowledge (Context)
- AI Chat relies on a well-structured knowledge base to provide meaningful responses.
- You will need to format and load your knowledge base and optionally FAQs, internal support documentation and other relevant information into the AI storage.
- Infrastructure
- OpenAI Account – To access the AI model for generating responses.
- Pinecone Account & Index – For storing and retrieving knowledge base data efficiently.
- AI Engine Pro Plugin – A WordPress plugin that facilitates AI integration with your website.
Our focus is on delivering the best knowledge base experience, which is why we have chosen not to develop our own AI Chat solution. Instead, we recommend AI Engine, a powerful plugin that provides AI-driven features for your entire website in one place—including AI Chat, writing tools, image generation, and more.
This approach allows us to focus on improving our knowledge base features while ensuring you have access to a specialized AI solution that is popular within the WordPress community.
To enable AI Chat on your website, you will need to purchase AI Engine Pro separately.
Setup AI Chat

Step 1 Purchase and Download AI Engine Pro
- Purchase AI Engine Pro: https://meowapps.com/products/ai-engine-pro/
- If you previously installed AI Engine free version then uninstall it.
- Install and activate the AI Engine Pro plugin
- Enter your license key in the admin > meowapps > ai engine > license
Step 2 Set Up OpenAI Account

Look for "Setting Up Your OpenAI Account" heading.
Step 3 Set Up Embeddings
About Embeddings
AI embeddings are a way to convert text into numerical representations that AI can understand and process efficiently.
Instead of reading words like humans do, AI transforms them into multi-dimensional vectors that capture meaning and relationships between words.
Model Recommendation
When choosing model in the Pinecone Index and in AI Engine embeddings configuration, you can choose one of the followin models:
- Default Choice: Start with text-embedding-3-small. It offers a strong balance of cost, efficiency, and improved performance over Ada-002, making it ideal for most applications.
- High-Precision Needs: Opt for text-embedding-3-large if your budget allows and you need top-tier accuracy.
- Legacy Systems: Older text-embedding-ada-002

Step 4 Upload Knowledge Base Articles
Now we need to convert KB articles into AI embeddings and push those embeddings into Pinecone index where they are stored in a vector database.
The AI Egine has 'Sync All ' feature and you can later configure it so that changes to your articles are automatically synced.
Depending on the number of articles in your KB, this can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour or more.
After the sync is complete, you can check if any articles processing had errors by sorting the left side of the articles list by sync status.
Step 5 Configure AI Chat
Go to the Chatbots tab, select Context and set the Environment to Pinecone.
Under Chatbot settings, ensure the mode is set to 'Chat'. You can also add custom instructions such as:
You are a helpful assistant. If an answer cannot be found, respond with the exact phrase: 'I couldn’t find the answer, please contact our team!'.
Optionally you can also tell AI to use text on the webpage the user currently views (this can be outside of your KB Articles). In that case, select the option 'Content Aware' under the 'Context' configuration and add the following at the end of your custom chatbot instructions:
Also consider text that user sees on the current page: {CONTENT}
However, a better option might be to include pages (posts) in the Embeddings tab.
