For example, a list of employees is a list of people. So a list is <strong>covariant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By definition, <strong>covariance<\/strong> allows a derived class or interface to return a more derived type that is returned by the base class or interface method. C# supports the covariance in generic <a href=\"https:\/\/csharptutorial.net\/csharp-tutorial\/csharp-interface\/\">interfaces<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/csharptutorial.net\/csharp-tutorial\/csharp-delegate\/\">delegates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To define a covariance, you use the <code>out<\/code> keyword.
